Another aspect is closer cooperation with neighbouring countries: for East African countries, <strong>OSBPs also mean a step towards regional integration<\/strong>. In future, East African citizens will enjoy greater freedom of trade and travel within the region. <strong>But, while borders are opening up in some places, border closures are increasing in parallel:<\/strong> Kenya is currently erecting a 700 km border fence on the Somali border as an &#8220;anti-terror&#8221; measure.  <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f744c3 elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-testimonial\" data-id=\"7f744c3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"testimonial.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-testimonial-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-testimonial-content\"><p>\u201cThese boundaries created by colonialists should not separate communities that have lived together and cooperated for many years.
